The Shifter Speakeasy

It begs to be said that one does not make their way behind the Shifter's door, without first making the way past its guardians. As a visitor to the New Orleans speakeasy walks to beautiful, gleaming, walnut portal, the first thing they are greeted by is the appearance of a sparkling trio of electric light spheres. Any who would pass and have not already been scanned by these sentinels have this done in short order. The spirits will greet the individual in whichever language they prefer and then sink back into their waiting pose, becoming immaterial, part of the air. For those who have been scanned before, the spirits do not take the time to show themselves but do check patterns to ensure security. And if you haven't been invited ...you get one warning and one only.

Once past the guardians and through the door, a visitor is greeted by a mid-length hallway with light hardwood floors and walls embellished with geometric patterns also in wood, maple and walnut together. At the end of the hallway is a gleaming curtain of crystal beads, which opens into the gathering room proper.

To the left is a bar that has as many alcohol types as visitors have requested, and then some. If they don't have what someone asks for, it's quickly retrieved and added to the stockpile. Beyond it is a doorway leading to the Leader's office, also fringed with a hanging crystal curtain. On the right, beyond the couches in the large room, is a set of stairs that lead up to a second level.

Here in the second level, after heading through yet another curtain of gleaming stones, is a second, large, open room full of couches and chairs for people to kick back and relax. There are also multiple private rooms for meetings or guests who want to rest there for the night. These have actual doors and provide as close to real privacy as can be had in such a space.

As fancy as it all is, there has been effort put into making the space full of warm colors and sinfully comfortable perches, from the plush throw rugs on the floors, to the man-eating furniture that's very hard to get out of because it's just too enjoyable to sit or lie on it.

Welcome to the shifter's den!
