OUR STORY

His Majesty's

Salon

Welcome to the Grand Salon of his

Majesty Ujio Tanaka

There is history here, of course, time itself seeming to cling to the magnolia trees, in the gentle sweeps of Spanish Moss.  But tonight is history being made, a snapshot of beauty captured in memory.

As you enter the grounds of the large, shining, building of the Estate, you’ll be pleased to note the high walls and the gates that will keep out the uninvited, and ensure your safety throughout the evening. The house glitters in the night, white columns and tall windows, bright lamps in front, the softer glow of candles elsewhere. The drive itself circles in a graceful arc until you are helped from your vehicle, and then up the stairs to the foyer. Valets take your car and two men stand at attentive watch of the door. Their shirts are a radiant white, as are their bow-ties and cummerbunds, all of it appropriate dress for the night’s theme of vintage Hollywood.

You may already hear the sounds of music from the ballroom, the soft susurration of conversation, whispers of silk, and the tinkle of crystal glasses. All hinting at the celebration within.

The foyer itself is your first taste of the night’s opulence. The polished floor leads up to a grand sweeping staircase. Sprays of white flowers touch the walls and red accents play with the senses. Here you are offered a glass of red tinted champagne, and for those not of Kindred persuasion flutes of golden and rose tinted are available as well. To your left? A wide door leads to the ballroom. This might once have been several rooms of this old plantation, but now the floor gleams brilliantly under the crystal chandeliers. There is an area for dancing near the stage, a few tables arranged for easy seating and conversation. Along one wall is the bar and near another is a raised space surrounded in soft rope to indicate the VIP seating area.

The ballroom is a showcase of luxury that has transformed the rest of the house from a southern plantation into a dream of Hollywood glory. It sings of glamour and beauty, fame and lavishness.  Sprays of white ostrich feathers, silk couches, small foot rests help to complete the decor. While strings of crystals catch the light and send it sparkling against thick carpets, soft white curtains enhancing an already opulent setting adding just that extra level of extravagance.

Do you crave food or drink? Whatever your tastes or dietary requirements, you’ll be pleased to note that Kindred and Mortal delicacies have been created to delight the senses and palate.

Champagne flows in fountains, or if your tastes are more exotic, the bartender waits with special brews. Bloodwyne, for example, with magical properties, or other drinks infused with emotion.  For those that would prefer simplier refreshments, a great variety is available at the gleaming sweep of the bar’s dark wood surface.

Do you smoke? Visit the cigar and whiskey bar set aside in a comfortable study with dark woods and comfortable leather seating. A handmade humidor displays the many options available for your smoking enjoyment, and a wet bar is available with an array of complimentary whiskeys.

Once you have your food or drink, we hope you’ll deign to dance and mingle. Should the ballroom not suit your preferences at the moment, you might explore the rest of the offered rooms for tonight’s festivities. The doors to the main areas have been removed, leaving large arched entrances to allow easy flow of guests from one room to the next. There will be no risk of anyone being locked inside, for example, or danger to the guests.

The upperfloor has been closed off, though the staff will point you to several lounging rooms with couches arranged for comfort and conversation all within the main floor of the building.  In deference to guests who may require them, there are washrooms as well. They each have attendants with whatever Sir or Madam may require for their evening’s comfort.

The doors to the back of the house are open for the soft autumn evening. The trees are strung with lights and the pool littered with floating candles. Several arrangements of couches and chairs invite guests to sit and enjoy conversation, or to smoke.

The lawn that surrounds the house extends in each direction, until it reaches the high walls that envelop the estate. Guards occasionally patrol in discrete surveillance.
